Winter camping

Pass Creek Day Use Area, located on the Entrance Parkway about four kilometers from the entrance gate, offers a sheltered winter campground, free of charge.

The Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) operate a backcountry cabin in Waterton Lakes National Park (Cameron Lake Cabin), providing overnight accommodation in the winter.

Frontcountry campgrounds

  • Townsite Campground is closed for the season. 2022 reservations open on January 25, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. MST.
  • Belly River Campground is closed until further notice.
  • Crandell Mountain Campground is closed due to damage sustained in the Kenow Wildfire.

Backcountry camping

Backcountry camping is a great way to experience the wilderness of Waterton Lakes National Park. There are 10 backcountry campgrounds in the park. Reservations are available for backcountry campsites.

Group camping

Belly River Group Campground is closed until further notice.
