The Living Classroom

Bring your students to Elk Island National Park for an engaging out-of-classroom experience. Join a Parks Canada interpreter and watch the Alberta school curriculum come to life in a living classroom. Experiential learning programs allow students to immerse themselves in nature while exploring the hidden secrets of wetlands and learning how to survive as a bison. Elk Island is a perfect location for students to explore bison ecology, adaptations of plants and animals, wetland food-webs, and the role of Canada’s National Parks in conserving our natural and cultural heritage.
