Picking up permits and mandatory orientation

Hikers are required to carry their permit for the duration of their hike. Backpack tags must be attached so they are exposed for visibility, ideally on your backpack. Bennett campers should attach the backpack tag to their tent. You will pick up your permit at your mandatory trail orientation.

Group size

Maximum group size in Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site is dictated by B.C.’s Outdoor Gatherings order at the time of your hike. We encourage making reservations for small, core groups in the event restrictions tighten between time of reservation and your hike.
